What Do We Do?

Designing the KOL identification framework

We then design a bespoke KOL identification framework aligned to your goals, defining what “expert” means for this project, which roles to include (e.g. global, regional, local KOLs, trialists, DOLs, catalysts of change) and how we will score and segment them. This framework guides which data sources we use, how we weight different indicators and how we validate the experts we surface.

Gathering and integrating data

Using the agreed framework, we combine multiple data sources such as publications, clinical trials, congress activity, guidelines, registries, real‑world data and digital signals to build a long list of potential KOLs. Where appropriate, we integrate your internal data – CRM, prior lists, field insights or affiliate intelligence – to ensure the work reflects both external evidence and existing relationships.

Adding qualitative depth

Quantitative data alone cannot explain mindset, collaboration style or appetite for new mechanisms, so we add qualitative insight where it will change decisions. This can include structured surveys, depth interviews or targeted conversations that validate influence in practice and uncover nuances not visible in public data.

Validating, segmenting and prioritising experts

Once the long list is assembled, we apply the agreed criteria and scoring to validate each expert, remove noise and segment KOLs into meaningful tiers and groups. The result is a prioritised set of experts – from strategically critical global leaders to high‑potential emerging voices – each profiled in a way that makes it clear how and when to engage them.
